Former pop superstar Justin Bieber revealed on Wednesday that he had been battling Lyme disease and a serious case of mononucleosis but added that he was overcoming his health issues. On Instagram, Bieber noted that some people had recently criticized his appearance and suggested he was using drugs

i wouldn't wish his diagnoses upon anyone, but the way that this announcement is being used to drum up interest in his docuseries is too transparent.

lyme disease is super easy to diagnose. it's a blood test. when I was undergoing my MS diagnosis process (took four years ugh) it was one of the first things they tested for.

Most doctors don't diagnose it because "chronic lyme" isn't a real thing. Actual lyme disease (the one that involves tick bites, is curable, and doesn't have long-lasting consequences) is an easy diagnosis. "Chronic lyme" is like hysteria of the womb.
