This is all Trump's fault. We wouldn't be here if he didn't pull out of the Iran deal. We also wouldn't be here if we didn't decide to overthrow Iran's government in 1953 all because they wouldn't let the British control their oil. It would be nice if the US could get to a point to understand how our imperialism has fucked over so many countries, but I don't see that happening any time soon.

This. I recently watched Peter Davis documentary "Hearts and Minds" and it's awful to realize how much of what's portrayed there still reflects today's world. The way the US government has managed to sell so many of its citizens the idea that you're the good guys it's just fucked up. You see it even within the "artistic" community, awarding manipulative movies like Argo, and it's scary. The mindset which validates American imperalism is engrained into the US society like a cancer and I fail to see the end of it.
