The Strokes announced at their New Year's Eve concert in Brooklyn that they will have a new album out "soon." Julian Casablancas said they took a break in the 2010s but are now back and ~unfrozen

I don’t listen to any of these people but good luck to them as long as they’re not problematic. Also. Wtf is up with Sky’s career? I only know her from here and being in some random horror movie iirc. Did she start in music and music was tanking and her team wanted to push her into acting or was there something weird behind the scenes going on? I just feel that she’s been promising new music forever. I could be mistaken though.

Her record label fucked her over and took forever to release her first album, prob shelved her projects after it.

she's been through a lot of record label drama, health issues, toxic relationship(s?)... we'll probably never know the full truth, but that's been going on for the past decade

I love Sky but I feel like she could release music if she wanted to and just uses label problems as an excuse. Otherwise, how is it that she does all these features but can never put out her own stuff?

i don't think she's lied about her issues with her label, but she's also admitted in more recent interviews that she's also a perfectionist. it took forever for her to be happy with the strings on "downhill lullaby," and she listens to her music on several types of headphones/speakers to make sure she's happy with the mixing across platforms lol.
