In "Nobody who knows what Anne Rice is like is surprised" news, Hulu has announced that they are no longer moving forward with the book-to-series Vampire Chronicles TV show.

However, Rice & Co step forward into the anything-can-now-get-on-a-streaming-platform world undaunted, with Rice shopping the entire intellectual property and is looking for a complete buyout of the film and TV rights. Among the reported four new bidders is said to be none other than Paramount.

The intellectual property includes both The Vampire Chronicles and The Mayfair Witches, which is currently under the control of Warner Bros.

The asking price is $30-$40 million, along with an extra $2.5 million to buy out Warner Bros.

Bryan Fuller was previously attached to the project before he peaced out in January 2018, with Dee Johnson taking over as showrunner.
