I HATE SPOCK. It's been 50 fucking years! If I never ever see Spock in anything new ever again it will be too soon! And having Michael be his secret, never-before-mentioned foster sister is just really, really cringe fanfiction.
Plus, I hate the Klingon retcon and killing off Georgiou so they could make her Intendant Kira but in our universe was cheap. Also, I do not care for TOS, or Enterprise; I'm only interested in looking forward.
I love Michelle Yeoh so much but Intendant Georgious is a huge, huge miss for me.
Tbh I never liked Spock UNTIL Discovery. He was always meh and overhyped for me until this Disco Spock, who was the first time I connected in any way to him as a character or felt in any way invested in him. So for ME this is the first Spock worth acknowledging. The others are just there. (I also hate TOS though tbh for soooooo many reasons, and Enterprise I couldn't even finish cos what the fuck even was that.)

I just wish we still had original Georgiou, because Disco's rush to kill off so many female characters really put me off. I have a long habit of losing complete interest in a show once Rekha Sharma gets killed off: BSG (which I think is an important show to examine Disco with), V, The 100, Disco. ||
Sci-fi television insists on killing my girl off in everything and then I'm done.
(Also, throwback to when Rekha's character killed Cally on BSG - which was because Nicki Clyne was part of the NXIVM cult and wanted to spent more time culting)
Love love love Rekha Sharma, but in terms of Disco killing off "so many female characters", it's killed off plenty of men too, including the male lead in Jason Isaacs? Landry and Airiam are the only ones who have permanently been killed off for the gals. I can't count Georgiou as being killed off, as Prime Philippa's death was the entire catalyst for everything Michael went through, and it was ALWAYS the plan to have Michelle Yeoh as Mirror Philippa, and the reason she signed onto the show in the first place to play such a fascinating meaty character.
(Tory was my BSG fave, and her killing Cally was HER GREATEST EVER ACT)
Yeah, that's exactly why I don't like it. I hate the basic conceit of using the mirror universe so heavily. The essential premise of the show is what I don't like.
Also, I don't care about male characters so unless the men are getting killed at 5x the rate of female characters, that they kill of plenty of male characters too doesn't mean anything to me.. I only care about female characters.
I lovvvee me some mirror verse, and Michelle is the MOST delicious as Emperor Philippa and having the MOST fun, so I'm living!
Disco is only the second tv show where I've cared about male characters (DS9 was the first!), but in fairness male and female deaths are never equal so I get you. Men are permitted to die in their thousands but when one woman is killed I'm sad about it :( I ALMOST FORGOT ABOUT ADMIRAL KITKAT :((((((( That shit HURT.
Landry should have had a much much better death than what she got, that was my major issue though. A blaze of glory is what she deserved!
