The biggest snubs from the SAG nominations, including 'The Farewell', 'Little Women'

Robert De Niro, already named as this year's life achievement award recipient, failed to earn an individual acting #SAGAwards nomination for #TheIrishman, though co-stars Al Pacino and Joe Pesci were once again nominated https://t.co/5NPwqxSKsq

I know de Niro didn't get a best actor nod, but it should be pointed out that he's getting the lifetime achievement so I guess maybe SAG just said fuck it? Though it's a bit of a weak argument since Tom Hanks is getting the DeMille award at the GGs and is also nominated for supporting actor. Anyway, over to the snubs.

-- “Little Women” getting totally shut out was a surprise, especially for star Saoirse Ronan who was nominated for a GG but not here. And yes, it was more critically acclaimed than most of the films actually nominated so it was a surprise. The end-of-year release date probably hurt its chances.
-- Antonio Banderas, “Pain and Glory” - he got the GG nod and numerous accolades already, so it's a bit of a surprise he was shut out of best actor. We'll see about the Oscars, though.
-- Eddie Murphy, “Dolemite Is My Name” & Adam Sandler, “Uncut Gems” - same with Banderas, they were nominated for previous awards for acclaimed performances, but shut out as well.
-- Awkwafina, “The Farewell” and the movie itself getting snubbed is a surprise since it got GG love and tons of acclaim before. SAG remains fickle and unpredictable.
-- “Succession” - after all the Emmy nominations, this getting snubbed at the GGs and SAGs is fucking baffling. But let's keep giving nods to David Harbour and his terrible acting right? Mess.
