That's what I was thinking. I feel like the appropriation lingo has only been recent in the cultural conversation, especially with Twitter and Tumblr making it spread faster.

i had this thought as well, then remembered that Watchmen's universe/timeline isn't the same as our's! It's an alternate reality.
