most just really don't think about it because they've never actually had to think about it
they just think it's aesthetically pleasing and charming~

I'll admit to not even thinking about it until recently. My friend's first wedding was at a plantation and I didn't think anything of it at the time (7ish years ago). Just googled it and they definitely had slaves there.

Part of it may be that I'm from the north and we don't have that history at the picturesque old buildings around here. It honestly just didn't occur to me, though I see how fucked up it is now.
