i bought a fake tree and just use walmart or meijer wax melts that smell like christmas trees. the nightmare i had in 2016 of trying to get a tree out of my sliding glass door to the dumpster and getting needles fucking everywhere was enough for me to never want to do a real tree again

This! I had a hell of a time getting trees up and down apartment stairs ... The worst part is when it's dry ass comes back down. I threw one off the back balcony once and drug it into the woods behind my apartment. One time I had a trail of needles all the way to the dumpster. No way so I got a prelit fake one & use Glade plug ins in Christmas tree scent & voila! & I basically make the money back in 2 years time than I would buying a 75$ tree every year
