“It was probably in Malibu-that’s too far for me to go to,” said Ellen, who instead traveled that weekend to Dallas, Texas, to attend a football game with the man responsible for Abu Ghraib. https://t.co/7X3kBz56Be

Maybe it’s just on ONTD where I see people on here bring up bushes past and him being a war criminal because my parents never talk about Bush like people on here, they didn’t like him but they never go into detail , so whenever I see bring deets on here it feels like a lesson in a way? Or I just didn’t pay attention to politics when I was younger ,

The terrible things he did have definitely been minimized by white people. And Trump is so terrible that people are putting on some rose colored glasses when it comes to the past.

Like I ask my parents about both bushes and they just didn’t go into much detail except he was ok president not great, so as much shit I get on here with my comments about why bush is this or that I do read them.

Trump made everyone forget about Bush. Also former presidents tend to be forgiven.

Maybe your parents have difficulties summarizing why they dislike him? Everyone has different reasons for disliking GW. Some people dislike him because he stole the election. Some dislike him because he was so poorly spoken. There's also the recession, Hurricane Katrina, Iraq War...

it's crazy he literally killed millions of civilians in a corrupt ilegal war and some dislike him because he was "so poorly spoken". it's fascinating to see which lives matters and which don't.

It's a sad state of affairs that it really is about optics sometimes for some people... Even now with 45, I know people who seem more upset that he's vulgar and embarrassing than he's harmful.

yes, this is true even among Dem voters and politicians. otherwise there wouldn't millions of them willing to vote for Biden, Pete, etc.

Yeah...like, would it have been okay for him to start a war under false pretenses and slaughter innocent people if he was articulate? I can't...

Seriously, of all the reasons to dislike Bush, his awkwardness and lack of charisma is literally bottom of the list. Like way, way down the bottom.

sadly because my grandparents were republican, it took me seeing comments on here and watching a few things to realize just how bad the bushes were. i didn't pay attention to politics when i was younger either and just "supported" who my family said was the right choice. ngl, i'm kind of glad my grandparents passed away before this trump mess because i only have to imagine how bad the fights might have been.

palin is exactly who started to turn my mom away from the party too. then to follow it up with romney and ryan? that was the end for her and we've both gone further and further left since then.
