I wanna get Invisalign so bad but that shit is expensive if you’re no longer a minor :(

Right???? My dentist wants me to fork over 5 grand for that! I want braces again (and kind of need them) but 5 grand is a-fucking-LOT.

How crooked are your teeth? Invisalign moves teeth side to side well but not front to back, ime. I had super crowded teeth and did a full year of Invisalign only to still need metal braces for 6-7 mos afterwards! I should’ve just did clear braces in hindsight but I am happier with my teeth overall now. I used to have a tumblr documenting my braces/Invisalign journey but I deleted it lol.

I had rabbit teeth and did all the buttons and later did the rubber bands with regular braces. They were the 2 teeth that were the most stubborn to move, hence the normal braces afterwards ☹️. One of my front teeth still sticks out more than I want it to but I’m too lazy to do another round of braces. So yeah, ymmv, but I wish my orthodontist told me that moving teeth front to back is harder with Invisalign. I’m just glad the receptionist billed my treatment as regular braces so I ended up getting a good discount!

Oh also, I wear my night retainer religiously but my teeth have still moved back some after treatment. That has been the most frustrating part bc now my teeth have some gaps from where they filed and food gets stuck there all the time (which can lead to more cavities) 😑

my teeth are pretty straight in general because i had braces as a teen but they have since moved and there are some small gaps that i want to close!

Ah that should be an easy fix then! Mine were pretty bad so I think Invisalign wasn’t strong enough for my janky chompers

FIY I had 14 trays too and my treatment ended up being 2.5 years cos some of the teeth just would not move correctly and I had to keep getting trays. I went through 3 sets of about 14-16 trays until I was finally happy.

Yeah I’ve never heard of anyone who had Invisalign being completely done after their first set. Also, the free retainers that come with Invisalign are pure shite and I was forced to pay a further 300 quid for Vivera retainers which last about 3 years. So I’m looking at 300 quid every 3 years for the rest of my life. Other than that everything is covered afaik. Some people put a permanent retainer bar on the inside of their teeth tho
