this current wave of "critics are haters" is nagl. i mean obviously some people are critical in bad faith and others are trolls. idk its crazy to me how quick entertainers are to call valid criticisms "hate". but i haven't seen this so who knows.

MTE...wish Hollywood was as sensitive about proper representation and treating below the line crew like human beings as much as they are about someone not liking their shit show.

its because they fostered an environment of brand loyalty where every product done by a corporation is necessary for the whole (see also: MCU/Disney/Star Wars/Jurassic Park etc) and that you should only consume, not speak about it

the "let people enjoy things" crowd who likes this kind of milquetoast content served in high production gloss are brand loyalists

we're seeing the end result of 20 of society co-opting oppression and claiming victimhood where there is none. nothing is every your fault. people can't possible just not like you, it's for isms and hidden conspiracies. there is never a logical arguments against you, facts don't exist. we've gone from truthiness, to just flat out lies. lies that go so massively unchecked or have zero consequences that it's terrifying.

meanwhile, as always, those who actually are being oppressed and victimized have the boot of capitalism and whataboutism on their neck, and if you're a woman add in you are clearly lying about everything and should have no rights ever you jezebel.

but if you don't like some famous persons product, it's totes a societal issues *nods*

fuckers.

It's so immature and reeks of insecurity, especially when it's these grown people who get paid millions. Who cares if there are "haters"? Either learn to address them like an adult or get over yourself

Yeah. It's especially bad from rich and influential people, then it's like "you're beneath me and your opinion is literally fake and harmful".

Some of it is true tho. Due to social media and clickbait, people love to be more critical than usual.
