Saw Pain and Glory, going to try to score Parasite tickets soon. I’d like to see Il Traditore but I don’t think it comes out until next year near me 🙃🙃🙃

I don’t miss living in NYC but I definitely miss having bougie movies to screen freely

I watched the last season of the Affair and to my amazement I actually loved it, even though I really missed Cole and Allison.

i liked it too, except the stuff with anna paquin dragged it down. i just couldn't find myself caring about her?

I agree, I couldn't find myself caring a lot about her character either and I wanted to FF all her scenes lol. Paquin is also really bad at hiding her real accent behind an American one and it kept distracting me. But I loved everything else, apart from Whitney's shitty ex making a comeback

I mostly really liked it too -- the whole Sasha thing was kind of a waste of time and I don't know WHAT they were trying to do with that half-hearted Me Too angle, but I actually loved Joanie and her depressing-ass semi-dystopian future. And I liked that Emily Browning ended up being kind of part of the family, as weird as it was. (I was so mad about Ben, though. I guess justice doesn't always happen irl, but we're seriously gonna let that guy keep treating psychiatric patients?!?)

Seeing Waves tonight and I'm super excited. <3 I'll wait for Amazon Prime for The Report; seeing Atlantics in a few weeks.

And...I...don't want to be mean, but why does Lil Peep get a documentary, exactly?? Was he a bigger deal than I realized?

I was also surprised to see that he was the subject of a doc, but I don't know anything about him.

on lil peep i think the reason is twofold 1) his mum is very keen on crystallising his legacy, pronbably helps with her grief and anger at the manner of his passing (not that there was anything suspicious about it, he was just not being looked after which is very common in the music industry) and 2) he was set to be a massive deal, teenagers loved him and so did critics

I can't wait to see Atlantics. It looks so sad but hauntingly beautiful...

thank you so much for these posts, OP. I love indie films and this always helps keep me in the loop.

WAVES looks exquisite. that cinematography alone....whew. ATLANTICS is giving me Fight Club vibes in terms of delusion/unreliable narrator and I'm SO here for it.

None of the actors in THE SHED look remotely like teenagers.

I loved Camila Morrone in Never Goin' Back. I'm getting incest vibes from MICKEY AND THE BEAR.
