• Both actresses appeared in big films at a young age; Dern in Blue Velvet at 16, Ronan in Atonement at 13.
• The LW cast went to the Alcott family home, Orchard House, before filming started.
• Louisa May Alcott taught herself to write with her left hand so she could keep writing when her right hand started cramping up, and Ronan did the same in the film.
