I've been side eyeing these two ever since they had nothing to say about their rapist friend Charlemagne. I used to enjoy the podcast, but their dismissiveness with that and attitude towards certain topics just put me off of them. I peeped the show and it's short af and like most people already said here awkward as hell.

Yeah when it comes to people they “know” or are huge fans of, they get real mum. I stopped listening to The Read years ago when Kid Fury was still defending Azealia Banks and when Bey was on that cultural appropriation, they didn’t have shit to say. That truly soured them for me.

they were weirdly dismissive about nate parker too tbh like I think one of them even said "the girl is dead so I'm over it"... idk it was really really weird and I stopped listening to the show

IIRC they read him the first time, during the birth of a nation proceedings and I think the one you're mentioning was when he was trying to mount a comeback and the 'over it' was about talking him in general?

It was back in 2016. tbh I feel like they tried to sit very centrist on that whole issue and it made me very uncomfortable. crissle even said "if you're gonna not see a movie because the director is a rapist then you may as well give up on seeing movies" or something along those lines it was extremely...off.

ugh. this disappoints me. i really liked KF when he was posting vids and talked about a lot of real shit and seemed educated. especially since he had no problem calling people out on their BS it's surprising that he'd be dismissive about something like that. bummer.
