He didn't justify what happened - all he did was address the elephant in the room at a con and then moved on.

I can't agree with this when he said, “We’re having fun with it,” Ackles joked. “The crew really wanted to wear orange jumpsuits, but we couldn’t get them in time.”

Haha, so funny, two people were assaulted and my "big dumb friend" was charged with assault let's make a joke out of it.

I don't think he could have gone in on him at a con - it'd be highly unprofessional, and he also still works with him for a few more months. I'm sure we'll never know about the private conversations they had right after it happened either.

Okay regardless of the Jared thing that i didn't know happened and still need to research--, if this were 10 years ago before Jensen's problematic behavior was easily accessible online I would have been here for this, his voice was nice but like. No. Not anymore.

for instance:
Jared said, "Excuse me, does the rag smell like chloroform to you?" and Jensen responded with, "No, Mr. Cosby." And then when ppl were unhappy Jensen asked, "too soon?"

Not only does he find rape jokes funny but he's against gay so bad that he lost interest in doing "cowboy films" after Brokeback Mountain came out. Oh, and let's not forget that he stated that being gay was "unmanly" and when told that wasn't true he had to point out that is was in that particular case. He's trash.

Jensen is not homophobic at all. He's raised money for Out Youth, is extremely supportive of his gay fans (there was a sweet moment with a young fan during the most recent Pride Month), and recently told a fan who is transitioning that they're becoming who they're meant to be.

He's grown out of the toxic masculinity thing (although Jared's "joke" wasn't funny at all).

Honestly, I would love this and wish it to be fully who he is.
I just don't know right now, with what he said about Jared's assault (I replied to your earlier comment with quotes) I just feel like I can't trust Jensen to be who he's showing himself to be. I want to. I watched SPN up until like 2014ish, but when the crew started getting called out I just couldn't support them anymore.

If he shows he's really changed and I see it more and more I might change tune on this but right now it's really hard.

(I am absolutely not coming at you and hope that my comments here aren't coming off that way, however understand that they can be seen that way. I have no problem with you and don't judge you for liking Jensen still.)

I remember the joke and the other things you mentioned. I feel like he started changing once he married Danneel. It's possible she was able to change his mind on several topics. I know I for one was VERY surprised Jensen and Jared supported Beto O'Rourke, for starters. I thought they both were full on Republicans.
