I don’t know, see my mind went to open enrollment period. that if someone were just going to marry out of nowhere after being together for years, why? Pregnancy and health insurance are the only two I can think of and so many insurances do end of year nov. enrollment

One of my coworkers secretly got married after work on a Friday and then didn't tell anyone, and it was right before open enrollment LMAO. Her new husband is self-employed. >.>

getting married counts as a qualifying event

you don't have to get married during open enrollment LOL

if you want to stay rich, yeah you need health insurance. i mean hell i wracked up a million bucks in a year on medical, without trying, and without being rich.

but cripes it was a bitchy throw away comment and once again, y'all are being the super literal brigade. they probably got married cause ~gasp~ they love each other. but OP said pregnancy as their bitchy answer and i said that or insurance.

It's the perfect way to put off family and get away with minimal fuss. I did the same thing and promised the 'big wedding' later. In a few months, it'll be our 25th anniversary and my family is still waiting for the big wedding (they are hoping for a renewal of our vows next year which won't happen).

courthouse/city hall weddings are becoming more and more popular for non-pregnant situations tbh
