Harry Styles and his new single “Lights Up” flops

Oct 30, 2019 17:22

Harry Styles and his comeback single, “Lights Up,” is a certified flop. The song made a respectable debut in the US at no. 17, and in the U.K. at no. 3. In its second week, the single fell 49 spots from no. 17 to no. 66 on the Billboard Hot 100. In the U.K., the single is currently no. 11.

In defense of this feo however, the single has yet to be officially sent to radio in the US. But would it make much of a difference? Would radio even embrace this particular single? Quien sabe.

Other excuses theories being thrown around by fans is that “Lights Up” isn’t the “official” first single.

What do you think? Is it too soon to say, is Columbia Records incompetent? ...or should Henry hang it up, flatscreen?
