Blue Merle dogs are cute, but they’re rife with health issues (blindness, deafness). If you want one, look in the shelters, because they do exist, and you don’t want to encourage unethical breeding that puts the looks of a dog ahead of its health.

oh for sure. I've looked up a few Great Dane rescues in my area so if I ever did decide to get one, it'd be that route. I've only ever had adopted pets & don't plan to change that just for the sake of a breed or coat colour.

A well-trained Great Dane is a goofy sweetheart of a dog (who is convinced he's the size of a somewhat petite beagle, and therefore will demand lap sitting despite his size). A poorly trained Great Dane is a nightmare.

my cousin has a great dane and it scares the shit out of me.

hes a good dog but he's just too huge. his face is as big as mine. he can take me out by just one turn because he's pure muscle

he also kicked me off the couch once, which is uncool

I wish science would find a way to make large dog breeds live longer. Big dogs are the best but the shorter life spans are too heartbreaking.

i've got two harlequin (the dalmation colouring) great danes and honestly if this is a great dane its a bloody small one. i've got a male and female and both are much bigger than this and they are small for their breed and colouring. Perhaps not a pure breed
