They don't have to see movies to know about those things. I know he doesn't know what the young folks are doing on their devices, but they could be looking up actual factual information about those events, not watching a Hollywoodized version

Also related to that, old people always assume young people on their phones = texting. You can actually read things on your phones now~!

The can know about WWII by watching documentaries too. They are entertaining and tend to be more accurate than movies. Maybe Netflix should make a couple of docu about it.

His argument is silly because I'm sure his parents generation and the generation before felt the same way about the Boomers. Plus, it's better to read a book on your iphone or tablet about the subject instead of a film.

History books bend the facts enough already, we don't need kids learning about world history from movies that tend to idealise, whitewash and misconstrue events.
