Actually, it makes me think of Sewer, Gas, and Electric by Matt Ruff, where a guy made his fortune by building servant robots. Originally they came in all ethnicities, but people preferred getting black ones (especially after a plaque wiped out most people of African descend) to the point that there are only black servants around, modeled after mamies or Uncle Remus, and the term "Electric Negro" becomes synonymous with robot servant. But people in the novel treat it as "okay" because that's just the market satisfying demand, and there are no actual back people around anymore to complain and point out how revealing and fucked up that is.
Next to the sex doll thing I could totally see that happen, that they slap black faces on servant robots and people get off on owning one. :/
