October 16, 2019 Nicki Minaj turned Beverly Hills' Rodeo Drive into a very pink Avenue of the Stars as she launched her "Prints On" capsule collection with luxury brand Fendi.
The 36-year-old rapper says the collection came about with a simple lyric, “I made a song called ‘Chun Li’ and I said 'Fendi prints on,' Fendi then brought me out to Milan and said, ‘When your song came out, the clothes that had the actual Fendi prints on started selling more.’ I respected them so much for telling me that; we all know how hip-hop influences fashion, but a lot of times, we don’t get that credit, so I fell in love with them for saying that.”
The capsule collection consists of 127 ready-to-wear pieces including swimwear, handbags, sunglasses, and footwear-all splashed in a bubblegum pink monogram and aluminum foil-like metallics that were designed by Minaj and Fendi creative director Silvia Venturini Fendi.
