I hope that in between now and the time we vote people become hopeful and excited. The drive tio get rid of Trump pushes people to vote

They're not right and they're misinformed. Trump does not have the biggest base at all. He's barely hanging on to less than 33% of registered voters. There are many more registered Democrats and left-leaning Independents.

Has everyone forgotten the 2018 midterms where the Dems took back Congress? The reason Nancy Pelosi is Speaker of the House again? Short memories.

It's the primary, no one needs to settle on one candidate in October, 13 months before the election. That's stupid. We're still in the process of choosing the best candidate. They're both sound dumb to me. The Democrats are poised to gain another 10 seats at a minimum in Congress and the Senate is in play. We need 4 seats and it's possible to get them. The GOP is on the run. There are at least 13 GOP Congressmen who have dropped out and aren't even seeking reelection. That's unheard of.

This kind of defeatist talk is just bull shit.

People in this post are extremely stupid and clearly haven’t been paying any attention.

The most charitable I can be is to think they've been so turned off by Trump that they've just stopped paying any attention to the news.

Polls this week show that any of the top 4 candidates would beat Trump by 10 points. It's only going to get worse for him as time goes on. People want to see him impeached, it will happen.

so people don’t vote against their best interests? BC that’s what Cardi is saying and what this agreement is mostly towards.

"There are more registered democrats"

Especially with black voter suppression and gerrymandering. We also see black voters being purged and turned away from polls in every single election.

Democrats are too busy screaming about Russia "stealing" the election, third party voters and the youth not voting but not a single care in the world about black voter suppression.

You're right about voter suppression and gerrymandering being a huge problem, but I do see lots of Democrats who are working on these issues. And it is a huge problem, but so is the Russian tampering. They can hack the voting machines, which is why every state needs hand counted ballots.

It was a combination of all three that gave us Trump to start with, it wasn't just one thing. He's not legitimately elected but there's nothing we can do about it except try to make sure the next election is legit.

Democrats have been "working" on the issue of black voter suppression since Bush stole the election by tampering with black voters in Florida. They have done nothing and will do nothing about it.

Trump, though winning the EC, illegally won his way into the white house and has continued breaking laws left and right without any real pushback from democrats. It took them until now to even ~discuss~ a possibility of impeachment. Trump right now is Teflon Don, nothing, no law is going to stop him.

I'm sorry but this election will be another sham.

That's your opinion, it's not fact. How did that play out in the 2018 midterms?

Oh that's right, the Dems regained the Congress and took state houses and Governorships all over the US. No reason why they won't do well in 2020, either.

Do you think this part was misinformed? Because this was mostly what i was thinking about

"A lot of people vote with feelings in America and a lot of their feelings is racism and religion. Every single time he always talk about how he want to take away Medicare and sh-t like that... a poor white man that's getting Medicare is not even caring that he's saying that, he just cares that he hates Mexicans and he want to get rid of them. So [they're] going to keep on voting for them."

I wasn't agreeing with them about Trump having the biggest base.

They're right about that part but unfortunately they're wrong on everything else, and the misinformation they're spouting is not doing anyone any favors.

In 2018 didn't Democrats lose Senate seats?

I'm pretty sure he'll win 2020.

Thank you. I get the need to keep fear of Trump getting re-elected as motivation but it too easily slips into defeatism.

Trump won because a lot of people just stayed home in 2016.
