Rachael Ray is promoting her new cookbook Rachael Ray 50: Memories and Meals From a Sweet and Savory Life

Summary of conversation [Spoiler (click to open)]
[Also an eating segment]
It commemorates her 50th birthday. Not only a cookbook, but also a scrapbook, a memoir, all the opportunities that she’s had in her life. The American dream is still alive, a love story to being a grateful American. Talks about the food she cooked for the panel. She liked salty fish as a child so that is in a lot of her cooking choices. She writes about Italy and being the most awkward celebrity. If you work hard and you’re grateful, then good things can happen. Meghan talks about RR being a role model. Asks RR what advice she’d give. RR talks about the number of platforms you can create or use. No matter your age, you can reinvent your life. You need a vision.

Sunny says this is her 26th cookbook. RR says this is the first time she wrote essays (not only the recipes). Shows cute child photo. RR says everyone should work in a restaurant. RR was a short order cook. Whoopi has nothing to say she’s just eating. RR talks about being a dish machine operator, other roles, how to be of service to your customer. Plus learning the industry. Abby loves her shows. RR explains about Mama Leone’s in NY.

Some background: Hunter is an attorney and was EVP for MBNA. He served in the Dept of Commerce during Clinton admin, and was appointed to the board of Amtrak by Bush43; e.g. his business experience prior to father becoming VP. (He stepped down from Amtrak when Obama/Biden admin started).

Whoopi brings up the context. Plays clip. Says maybe he made a mistake in the grand scheme, but not an ethical mistake. He was appointed to Burisma board for a 5 yr term; when that ended in April, he stepped down, said he won’t serve on boards or foreign entities. Sunny mentioned maybe there wasn’t enough of a denial so they (Biden family, campaign) wanted to put it to rest, but height of hypocrisy for TRE45ON or any of his family or supporters, given that his own kids are working in two dozen countries plus Ivanka and Jared and the list goes on, the whole family are grifters using the T45 admin as a cash register. Abby felt like it didn’t look good, get out in front of it, thought Hunter did a good job. Quotes Hunter, his dad doesn’t have to defend him, he only has to love him. Repeats that Hunter has never sought a job in elected politics, doesn’t want that life. Abby thinks the Dems have a lot more important issues, like our military and Syria (and Saudi). She’s over the story. Meghan disagrees with Abby, says blah blah. [She has no self-awareness, she has gotten every single job solely because of her dad].

She loves Biden and his family but blah blah MyFamily™. Meghan also criticizes his attire, thought he should be in a suit and in a studio. Meghan talks candidate strategies, polling numbers. Whoopi says Biden was VP for 8 yrs, but only now is it a media issue, re/T45 projection. Whoopi goes on again, this didn’t just happen. Maybe the optics aren’t great, but you can’t point to anything that (Hunter) or (Joe) did that was illegal. Meghan goes back to primary voters vs general election voters, but Whoopi thinks you have to convince the American people you’re going to make their lives better… [yes she diverts to taxes looool].

Sunny talks a little bit about his legit business experience (noted above), so she doesn’t think it’s fair to say he got the (Burisma) role solely because of his name. Sunny also wants to understand why Dems don’t say, Nothing illegal was done, don’t buy into the narrative, T45 is projecting. [There have been plenty of articles but definitely not the NYT @kenvogel who was working with Rudy Colludy on a fake Watergate, while sitting quiet on the actual real life Watergate]. Meghan talks about T45 mentality. Thinks Warren or her surrogates will go after this. Abby thinks people attacking Joe ends up badly (cites Kamala), then segues that 12 people are too many. Whoopi disagrees, you’ve got to let it shake out. [Welp they cut the clip before the segment ended bloop]

Abby talks about the debate format, other candidates, Bloomberg. Meghan mentions the audience is sorta meh, who are mostly NYers. Panel discusses typical election campaign timelines, vs how different this time is. Meghan outlines Buttigieg new strategy, wants him back on the show. Whoopi says these candidates are like a marriage (runs hot and cold). Sunny reminds that no one really knew who Obama was, at this time in the cycle. Meghan talks MyFather™.

Hot Topic Officer Who Shot TX Woman Arrested

Panel talks how swiftly this has progressed. In 48 hrs, officer was placed on admin leave, then fired, arrested, and charged with murder. Sunny talks about TX is open carry so there being a gun in the house is irrelevant since a lot of TX has that. Mentions the lead up to this, it’s time for swift justice. Abby is glad they acted quickly, she’s upset for the nephew, and feels bad for the neighbor who called them to begin with. Whoopi wonders what would’ve happened if it was opposite, if she got nervous that someone unknown was on her property. Meghan says TX is stand your ground state (re/in support of the victim). Whoopi says this could’ve happened to any of us, but seems to mostly happen only to some (re/black community).

Whoopi is hangry in anticipation of Rachael Ray food. Moves to Huffpost article. Woman married 12 yrs, in therapy for issues with husband after post pregnancy intimacy issues. Writes about a crush on barista at Starbucks. Goes there daily to flirt with the crush. She’s hoping she’ll naturally get over it. What would you tell her, hangry Whoopi says STAY OUT of Starbucks. Abby thinks a little competition could be good. Her husband only dated blondes until Abby, his crush was Heidi Klum. Sunny doesn’t like it. Don’t go to the Starbucks. Whoopi thinks if you’re in therapy, then it’s a bad idea. Abby distinguishes between celebs vs someone you’d plausibly know irl. Whoopi is more hangry. Maybe have a crush but don’t tell people. [Racheal brings Whoopi food]. RR says her crush was Curtis, tells funny story being on set, her husband was backstage.
