In an interview regarding Daryl Morey's tweet, Lebron James claims that Morey was not educated on the protests and thus misspoke.

Lakers’ LeBron James on NBA’s China controversy: “I don’t want to get into a ... feud with Daryl Morey but I believe he wasn’t educated on the situation at hand and he spoke.” pic.twitter.com/KKrMNU0dKR

He also tweeted this out:

My team and this league just went through a difficult week. I think people need to understand what a tweet or statement can do to others. And I believe nobody stopped and considered what would happen. Could have waited a week to send it.

People on Twitter are calling out Lebron for caring more about his bank account than the people in China. While others were defending him from right wingers and their hypocrisy.

1. Hong Kong is going through much more than a “difficult week.”
2. A tweet can empower others as well, which #LeBronJames should know by now.
3. What happened was exposing China’s power over U.S. biz interests.
4. “Could have waited” is weak. Not how leaders speak. pic.twitter.com/bqmTwrgjf6

I wake up and discover that LeBron James is a coward and John Bolton is some kind of hero.

Going back to bed.

in defense of LebronJames @kingjames it’s unfair to drill a athlete or entertainer on the complete fuckery games ALL of these governments do. Few of them have clean histories. Calling it a most disgraceful moment of career is white journalist inkBall IMO https://t.co/z62vgCaBRE
