Another reason why 78 is just too fucking old (the average life expectancy is just over 78 for Americans.).

My grandfather died at 78 with severe Alzheimer’s and dementia so it’s wild to me when I see people that age still be fully functioning members of society.

My grand dad died at 74 also with severe dementia, it was awful to witness. That was twenty years ago and I still remember vividly how he didn’t recognise any of us.

My grandma passed from dementia at 74 too. It’s crazy when I see people that age and older fine and kicking. She deteriorated so fast.

One of my grandfathers was an alcoholic who smoked like a chimney and who also had rage issues and he lived to be 94!!! Up until the day he died he was active and had a sound mind.

I was reading an article about the former mayor of Mississauga. She's 98 and was still in office till she was like, 93 or something. I can't imagine a person that age able to do anything let alone run a fucking city. People like her and Betty White amaze me.

my grandma is 93 and has had increasingly limited mobility since she had a stroke ten years ago. when i see active and outgoing people in their 90s i’m amazed at how strong their bodies and constitutions are.

Yeah my great aunt just died at 99 and was still active up (Well..walking around and stuff) until like 6 months before her death. So nuts.
