Do Henry Winkler and Tom Hanks have Beef!?
Henry Winkler and Tom Hanks are certainly two names nobody ever expects to hear come up in the context of celebrity feuds.
But Henry Winkler was on Watch What Happens Live this week when a caller asked him about his supposed feud with Tom Hanks that was sparked during the filming of Turner and Hooch. Winkler certainly didn't deny any bad blood between the two, taking even Andy Cohen by surprise.
Winkler explains that he was directing the film for only 13 days before he was fired - and although he doesn't outright state it, it's implied that he was fired due to a rocky relationship with the movie's star, Tom Hanks.
In a move that would make even Mariah Carey proud, Winkler takes the time to talk about how much he LOVED working with the true star of the film - the dog, "I got along great, great with that dog. Love that dog." He then pulls an "I don't know her" by stating he doesn't even remember the title of the film when Andy asks if he's ever watched it.
This is not the first time this rumour has made the rounds as Winkler has alluded to trouble between the two in previous interviews over the years, often without outright saying he and Hanks had an issue. In a 1993 interview with People, Winkler said, "Let's just say I got along better with Hooch than I did with Turner."
