Hmmmm I don’t like Kate’s initial expression when Tobey takes his shirt off but maybe I’m reading it entirely wrong. That’s a funny thing to include in a promo though. Like five seconds too long lol.

I haven’t watched episode two yet but I was LIVING for when Jack stood up for himself at the dinner with Rebeca’s parents.

I think the point is he's been hiding going to the gym from her and seems like a bigger transformation all at once because she's been distracted by the baby, etc., probably combined with her insecurity over how she's been coping (i.e., food).

RIGHT?! Jack forever.

Well, I would hope it would prompt her to help herself, and start eating better, and losing some real weight. It's so sad, that she, the actress is actually that size irl too. I feel bad thinking that, because I'm overweight myself, and I'm glad she was able to find this role for herself, but I do think she needs to lose some real weight at some point.

I don't get comments like this. Is there genuinely something that makes you think she isn't already trying to make positive changes in her life? She's talked about her struggles and how she's actively trying to lose weight. She also talks in 2017 about wearing a fat suit on the show and how, in her contract, it says that she needs to lose weight progressively over the seasons.

Okay, well that's good. I was unaware of that. Thanks.

Meitz has always said that her weight is a symptom and not the problem. Her character kate is based on the creators sister's struggles. Meitz wore padding for American horror story. The contract never had a goal weight or deadline and would be adjusted if need be. In her book she spoke of her abusive father who would force her into weigh ins and how her family was food insecure as a little kid and when things got better she ate a lot because she was afraid it was going away again. Kate will have to confront  her  overeating to deal with grief , like when her dad died and now with a special needs baby. I wonder how toby's slimedown will affect their marriage since I don't think kate will go to therapy. The actor that plays Toby actually wore padding for the show. We are seeing his body without it now.

With all due respect I think you should feel bad for saying and thinking that. It’s not helpful in any sort of way.

I did write in my comment, that I felt bad for thinking it. I'm not physically saying this to her. I'm writing a comment in a blog. Many people, even my mom, have said similar things to me as well. At times, it was helpful. I wasn't trying to be hurtful. It was the truth. At some point, I would hope that she could lose some more weight. That's all I was saying. There are plenty of people who would agree with me. They say those things all the time. You need to lose weight for your health, yada yada. Honestly and sadly, it's true. Being morbidly obese is really scary. I like her on the show a lot, so I don't know you're kind of coming at me RN.

Coming at you? I just wrote two sentences. There’s a difference (slightly) when your relative expresses concern and when a total stranger on the Internet comments on your weight. Just you saying that you’re not saying this to her says it all. She looks at herself in the mirror the way we all do. It’s not kind.

Yes, I understand the way I came was unkind, when you put it like that. I didn't mean to sound offensive. I get it. Lots of people have always commented to me about it. They even say if I lost weight I could be a model. That hurt. So I get it. Thanks.
