I'm kind of surprised Tootsie is so far below capacity (broadway.com says 68.10%).

I can't wait to see the genderbent version of Company when it comes to NY. I saw a revival a few years ago and really loved it but I think it'll be even more impactful with a female lead.

Idek why they haven't closed Tootsie yet. It's been flailing for months.

Yeah, I don't think Tootsie has much longer on Broadway. I'm not super surprised, tbh; it's not a movie there is a lot of nostalgia for, and with Santino out on paternity leave, the main draw for the show is gone.

I thought about seeing Tootsie last time I was in nyc but ended up going to Sleep No More. Even though reviews were good and the tickets were very discounted, it just wasn't terribly appealing to me as someone born 5 years after the movie came out.

But I did see Beetlejuice and loved it.

Some of the theater forums (Broadway World, All That Chat) have speculation mixed with actual news, but it's very hard to tell which is which. I remember people saying they thought Sara Bareilles would return to close the show after her tour wraps up at the end of November, but I have no idea if that's true, and it wouldn't answer your question of who is performing in November.

OP, how was MJ's performance in Little Shop of Horrors? I heard she was really good.

I didn't think she was very good, tbh. She sounded nice when she was singing, but she kept stumbling over and rushing through her lines, and she didn't sell the character very well. Basically, the singing was good but the acting needed work (and the same could be said for almost the whole cast).

To be fair, I saw it in its second week, so maybe she's more settled in by now!

I see. Poor thing. The reviews I've seen are more recent so maybe she's less nervous and more settled in the role now?

I saw Book Of Mormon (for free!) and its appeal was lost on me. There were a bunch of real mormons outside the theatre though. I also spotted some members of the Dutch royal family in the audience.

I'm heading down to LA soon to see Lights in the Piazza so I going to try and grab a ticket for Little Shop of Horror too. I heard the production is terrible though.

I ended up having to postpone my NY trip but it worked out because now I’m making a pit stop in Boston to see Moby Dick! So far I only have tickets to that and Moulin Rouge. It’s funny, I’ve now spent the most money on a single ticket with Moulin Rouge but I have a weird feeling that I’m not going to love the show.

Crazy enough I won the Hamilton lottery for a second time! I didn’t love the cast as much as the OBC or the 1st tour but the show is just such a star on it’s own. I’ve been seeing a lot of cheap tickets for it in SF though so I don’t think it will be here much longer.

Omg, I am so jealous you're seeing Moby Dick!! I cannot wait to hear about it.

And damn, congrats on the lotto win!! I have yet to win for that show.... one day!

Will definitely report back! Can’t wait to see what Dave Malloy and Rachel Chavkin come up with.
