The line about Lana being on the song being like when the popular girls tried to befriend Wednesday Addams was perfect.

In general, I hope Hollywood will continue doing more of this sort of original soundtrack work in the future, though. In the 1980-1990s, blockbuster movies always came with custom songs from big stars, and a lot of those were a lot of fun. That has kind of died out in the 2000s, with some exceptions.

I'm surprised, but glad that he did a video for this song. I still don't like it and think it's largely contradictory and lazy, but the beat's grown on me. I do wonder how the reception of this would've been if the artists complimented each other more stylistically.

I'm surprised he hasn't done one for "Senorita" (though if he does, that would probably be an interesting one.)

im probably alone with this opinion - but i really like the ari, miley and lana version. but lana's part really sounds out of place TBH and the video nonsensical. but i have it on my current rotation

I also like the song but Ariana and Lana’s parts are the ones that off for me from a theme POV. I can’t stand Miley but she’s the only one tying in the empowerment aspect.

Sonically I like Lana’s part for the mood and vibe.

Overall it’s a pretty good beat and song.

we;; at least there are 2 of us. as for how ari is so featured heavily. she is (co-?)producing the entire soundtrack. so... i get that (i just finished this guys review and its obvious he has no idea about that and it makes him look like he didnt do that much research) its on the movies wiki page lol

I haven’t watched the video yet cause of sound issues so I can’t speak.

I didn’t Ariana is part of the production team on this?! :O!

Yeah overall I like the song. I do like that musically they didn’t try to rehash independent women pt.1 because that would’ve lazy and uninspiring. I just wish it would’ve meshed in better. It’s clear how you got 3 separate artists in this song lol.

Though I live for Lana singing “I back it off the county line” yaaaaaaaaassss you ridiculous queen!! 😂😂😂🥳🙌🏼
