Drake attempts to get back into the good graces of Brazilians

After being slammed by the Brazilian media and public for acting like an asshole in Rio de Janeiro, Drake has posted an Instagram pic calculated to try and get back into the good graces of Brazilians.
Drake attempts a down-to-earth look by wearing a football jersey, holding (but not drinking) a caipirinha and claiming he went to a bar in Brazil and "nearly started a war" because of wearing the jersey.
Drake claimed in the caption that the jersey was simply “a gift” (as if it was from a fan or something), but it was really a “gift” from a sponsor, who paid him to wear it. Corinthians, the football club, is sponsored by Nike, with whom Drake also has a deal. This explains why he’s wearing a jersey of a team from the state of São Paulo while in Rio. (No Rio clubs are sponsored by Nike).
Some Brazilians are skeptical about his bar story. He was not seen or pictured by anyone at any bar (unlike the many other celebrities who really DID go to bars in Brazil, such as Lady Gaga, Beyoncé, Steven Tyler, Keanu Reeves, Hugh Jackman, etc). It is known that after Rock in Rio he was invited to a house party thrown by Anitta. The picture may well have been taken there (hence the plastic cup). He was not seen anywhere else and it was reported that he left Brazil afterwards, not even going back to the hotel - his plane was being prepared for take off on the same night of the Rock in Rio performance.
Drake has lied before about his trip to Brazil, when he claimed he didn't allow his set to be aired live on TV because of the rain. He was exposed by the director of the TV channel. Even his message on instagram after his set, that it was "the most fun he had had in a long time", was taken by several Rock in Rio employees as, at best, sarcasm, given that he had caused so much trouble backstage, fighting even his own crew, complaining all day and threatening to cancel the show.
