It's brilliant story telling. It's probably the most comprehensive re-telling of this event that I'm aware of. There were some fictional liberties taken, some consolidation of real people into one role, etc. But it tries to stay pretty aligned with the event.

What is even more scary is that... it happened again recently (!) not only with a nuclear reactor event, but also an explosion at a research center with the largest collection of ebola and smallpox was contained. All the glass was shattered but Russia said thisisfine.gif

I'm going to give it a shot. I love abandoned places, so Pripyat (sp?) is so interesting to me.

Wait what? It happened again recently in Russia?

Oh shit, this is another . . .what's the movie where people get infected from the chimps and then die?

I think Morgan Freeman was in it as a scientist. I remember the trailer having a monkey in a cage.

Contagion? Outbreak? IT was something.

Both were good, and scary to consider. Outbreak was monkey and Morgan Freeman. Contagion was bat-pig.

Okay. I forgot bat-pig killed GOOP.

Not only that but a nuclear reactor in a submarine almost blew up and Russia tried to cover it. This happened a few months ago.

It’s amazing! It’s well written, beautifully directed, and the acting is amazing. It’s tense, it’s scary. And there are also some moments that are really graphic and it doesn’t really hold back from portraying all of the horrors that the accident and subsequent cover up caused

I really liked it the series and thought it was very well done. they had to some liberties in the story telling, however they did a very good job at respecting the source material and overall tragedy of the event.

They captured the spirit of living in a communist country. A lot of characters are archetypical.
