I think I'm in the minority because I never get bothered by remakes. If I don't wanna watch it I just... won't. The older version doesn't magically disappear...

If the new one is great and improves on the previous then thats great!

If it fails then it sucks but regardless the the original still has its respect.

And also I feel like majority of the cartoons/tv and movies I saw a kid were at one point were either remakes, reboots, or modernized versions of previous incarnations.

Agreed. There's this really random uproar over Princess Bride getting remade and it's like... so? Nobody's putting a gun to your head to watch it and honestly if they take the opportunity to diversify it, all the more power to them. It's not the end of the world.

Yeah I mean I get the sudden nerve prick about it but like I remember there was a Footloose remake with Julianne Hough that kinda came and went. It may have done well but I don't see much talk about it now.

If it doesn't make much impact, it goes aways just as quickly as it came lol.

I can understand the laziness criticism about it but again I think alot of movies/tv that are loved were at one point remakes or americanized adaptations.

A lot of American shows were based off British TV shows ex: The Office, Sanford and Sons, Shameless etcc...etc some people would argue that the readaptations were better than their British counterparts. So you never know but it is been long industry standard.

A lot of the "well it's a cash grab" argument is so random because like.... pretty much everything from Hollywood is that. You'll watch the same generic MCU movie three times a year but a princess Disney remake is where you cross the line??

I can kinda see it with the live-action Disney remakes because the originals are perfect and it really doesn't seem necessary but you got a point with the generic mcu and I say that as someone who likes the MCU lol.

But then again I am ready for The Little Mermaid live-action cause Ariel is my fave!!! IDC GIVE THAT LIVE-ACTION!!

I'm wayyy more invested in this Little Mermaid remake than I'd thought I would be like can they just CAST ERIC ALREADY and WHY DO I CARE SO MUCH.

I loveeeeee Lore Olympus, I got introduced to it recently and suddenly I'm seeing the graphics for it EVERYWHERE. I love Hades and Persephone stories in general though lol.

All of the other Disney remakes I haven't really cared for...Aladdin I still do wanna see but

THE LITTLE MERMAID I AM 100% HFT!! I'm glad its not Harry as Prince Eric, I just don't see him in the role.

Aladdin and Dumbo were cute in a... worked better for more modern audiences kinda way. Beauty and the Beast was trash though and it pisses me off because apparently that one was my fave growing up. I hope they know absolutely nobody wants to see them do Pocahontas too.
I don't see Harry in the role either. I definitely don't see Centineo. I'm just sick of hearing about who auditioned, CAST HIM ALREADY.

Yeah I spent like a few hours one day reading Lore Olympus and then when I realized I had to wait weekly for an issue I didn't know what to do with myself.
