*dead at all of this*

Does pagan mean something different in the UK than it does here? Because I'm thinking of the non-Xtian religion but he says Drake reaches out to peoople like he's Jesus...

i thought pagan was a strange word choice. i don't think he means it in the literal term, but rather as a derogatory term for a transgressor of unwritten borderline sacred laws and codes of conduct that bind underprivileged communities for his personal gain (jay-x taught ha well).

Thank you for explaining. He could have also meant Fagin (the character in Oliver Twist who befriended children to get them to steal things for him) but just pronounced it wrong. That would go better with Drake using people for his own ends than pagan.

It means someone who's like a snake or two-faced basically.

Someone you can't trust.

yeah, I was confused about that too. I was just like "but Drake is Jewish"

(and idk if it's just my lack of sleep + forgetting to take one of my meds today but the explanations don't really sound... great to me?)

"the explanations don't really sound... great to me?"

It's slang...

Like there are a lot of Hindis out there, to use it as a pejorative seems idk. Christian missionaries like mother Teresa used it to refer to them (which is an inaccurate conflation). Theocratic and privileged (as someone who is not Christian).

I think it's fair for Jews and other non-Christians to raise an eyebrow at it, especially since drake is Jewish and doesn't hide that fact. Seems pointed to me

Drake isn't a Hindu lol so you can stop getting offended on their behalf. It's a grime slang word.
