My dad thought Pokémon was an anti-Christian cult and we weren't allowed to watch the show or collect the cards as kids. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I pitied kids like you so badly growing up, although my parents wouldn’t let me watch Harry Potter but I didn’t like it so I didn’t care. If they didn’t let me play Pokémon I would’ve ran away tbh.

My mom thought it was satanic too but let us watch anyway. My cousins, on the other hand, weren't allowed to watch Pokemon (or any anime)/Harry Potter/Land Before Time etc... It was always awkward visiting them because we had to hide our heathenism lol.

lol me and my siblings weren't allowed to watch it for a bit because they said "stupid" in the show but they later let us watch and get cards and stuff, i don't know why but they accepted pokemon would be our childhood. we just weren't allowed to watch the episodes with the ghost pokemon and such because it was anti-Jesus! anything witch-y/ghost-y/spiritual but not Christian-holy-spiritual we weren't allowed to watch... (Pocahontas, Harry Potter was the devil, Kiki's Delivery Service, etc)

LOL I think my religious parents did too but they let us watch and play the games anyways. They drew the line at Harry Potter though (but they later let us watch that too + read the books).
