I thought he was implying that his future grandsons will face the same pain that he has dealt with as a black man, unless society changes in a vastly positive way.

I dunno why he has made so many huge assumptions regarding his daughters' future, though. And in that quote, it seems very callous that he's talking about the pain his hypothetical grandsons may face without acknowledging the very real pain his daughters are already facing. But then again, I didn't check out anymore of what he had to say because... well, he's a terrible person.
