#JojoRabbit : Taika Waititi knocks it out of der park with the meaningful lunacy of his anti-hate satire. Title 10-year-old, a Nazi in training with Hitler as an imaginary friend, has something to learn: love conquers hate, and laughter makes it easier.

September 9, 2019 The controversial movie 'Jojo Rabbit' from director Taika Waititi premiered at TIFF tonight, and well, it's getting a lot of glowing reviews (no mention of awards, just positive reactions). Most people sound surprised at how moved and impressed they were by the movie, given how ridiculous the story is (which it still is) and trailer looks, and the subject matter around it. More reviews and first impressions below.
#JoJoRabbit is one of the more absurd coming-of-age stories I’ve seen. Funny, bittersweet and unapologetically unique, Taika Waititi continues to prove he is among the most exciting and original voices telling stories right now

September 9, 2019 Also, JOJO RABBIT is a marvel. It wouldn't seem possible for a movie that starts out so madcap to lead to such a sweet and sincere place. A magical, irresistible coming-of-age tale. Taika Waititi's greatest feat.

September 9, 2019 JOJO RABBIT is very sweet and very funny. The cast is great but the movie belongs Roman Griffin Davis and Thomasin McKenzie. They’re amazing.

September 9, 2019 JOJO RABBIT: The discourse on this is going to be Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, but I think it works. Often to an extremely impressive degree. Sam Rockwell might want to think of cultivating a new niche, though, good as his reformed white supremacist schtick is.

September 9, 2019 JOJO RABBIT is perfect. It's charming and hilarious and sweet but never shies away from being dark, tragic and scary. We are privileged to share time with Taika Waititi. It's exactly what we need right now.

September 9, 2019 Jojo Rabbit is simply wonderful. A coming-of-age tale told through the lens of fascism. Hilarious, clever, sensitive. Taika Waititi is so good at directing kids.

September 9, 2019 #JojoRabbit is fantastic. Funny emotional unique. Incredible performances, writing, directing, score, shot selection. As we say in Hollywood, “That Jewish Kiwi has done it again, and by done it again I mean
@TaikaWaititi has written/directed another great film, and by film I mean

September 4, 2019 My hat is off to
@TaikaWaititi and this cast/crew on this World War 2 satire. Taika gives us a satirical film (based on a book) that makes fun of Nazis in a way that I haven't seen since Mel Brooks did so a long time ago.
