August 30, 2019 Look, between the meandering Disney-led bland summer, and the fact that all the good movies are probably premiering at film festivals right now, we're at the definition of slim pickings for this weekend's box office. Hopefully, and undoubtedly, next weekend's take will be more interesting.
Anywho, the thriller 'Don't Let Go' kicked off the weekend's BO with $150,000 on Thursday night in 922 theaters in the U.S./Canada, and is expected to make $3 million and $5 million over the long weekend (on a $5 million budget).
The only other sort of big release out this weekend was something called 'Bennett’s War' at around 800 theaters. Irregardless, 'Angel Has Fallen' is expected to top the box office again with around $10 million to $15 million over Labor Day weekend, followed by the comedy 'Good Boys'.
In limited release are the action movie 'Killerman' and drama 'Official Secrets'.
