They're really trying to pander to non-white fans now to make up for all of these years of ignoring us, huh?

So is this a good thing or a bad thing?

I don't mind it, but I'd rather it feel more genuine in the same way I feel about them doing Black Widow after what happened to her in Endgame and only after WW/CM being successes.

The whole 'next phase' of Marvel feels like they're trying to be inclusive because it's the money-making thing, but I'd rather them do it for those reasons than not at all.

It’s never going to be genuine.. it’s a bunch of white dudes looking to up their profit metrics.

I’m just glad a younger generation gets to see more black and brown faces in their entertainment. Representation does not equal liberation but it is a small step in the right direction.

hashtag to be fair Phase 4 is gonna be when the post-"Ike Perlmutter has veto on anything we do" era of Marvel Studios starts to bear fruit so I don't think it's that surprising the optics of it are very diversity forward in a way they haven't been yet

Yeah, even films like Black Panther and Captain Marvel were apparently ideally released sooner but Perlmutter was against them because he didn't think they'd do well (due to a black lead and a female lead).

Apparently there was also supposed to be a Black Widow movie in phase 1 but Perlmutter also stopped that because "girls don't sell toys".
