In 2019, Disney has already had 5 movies cross the 1$B worldwide mark (Aladdin, Captain Marvel, Avengers: Endgame, Toy Story 4, and The Lion King), and more are certainly to follow with "Frozen 2" and "The Rise of Skywalker".

But what about next year? Of course, they're not going to have 5 in the club, but which ones will make it?

Mulan is the safest bet. Such a shame about the lead actress. Jungle Cruise and Eternals maybe.
Artemis Fowl idc idk what it is, just judging by the name - it's a flop.
Cruella better flop too! What a dumb concept

china's a large part of one of disney's biggest markets which yifei liu could have cost them.

the marvel properties are the safest bets, especially because of goodwill held over from avengers endgame for black widow and the main cast for the eternals.

What do you mean about China and Mulan, the lead actress made a pro-China statement so it’s not going to cost Disney the Chinese market...

pro-chinese government is not pro-chinese people. her statement may ensure that disney can distribute the movie to a chinese market (which ostensibly wasn't in any danger) but it doesn't mean chinese audiences will show up to support a movie starring a chinese ex-pat that doesn't support the freedom that so many of them are fighting for--especially if the social media backlash is an indicator.

Oh so you mean it’s going to cost them the Hong Kong/Taiwan market? Which is not very big. Because seriously, most mainland Chinese people are not fighting for democracy.

Nah China is huge on patriotism. This film will probably do really well in China now. However the rest of Asia I doubt it.

Mulan is their only live action remake next year though. hmm I was going to ask about china. it will be interesting to see how that turns out, china has had their own adaptations of mulan, this might not interest them as much. You're right, any of the marvels is also very likely
