August 13, 2019 Cara Delevingne is Marie Claire's September cover girl for their annual Obsession Issue.
The 27-year-old model bares all in the spread, and opens up about acting, her sexuality, her new relationship with Ashley Benson, and her thoughts on the on-going Harvey Weinstein case.
On sexuality and gender stereotypes: "[I spent years denying my attraction to women because] I didn’t want to feel different, even though from an early age I always felt I didn’t belong. [...] The whole idea of gender is so fixed. I just want to, like, explode it. I’m not nonbinary, but I feel as much man as I am woman."
On Harvey Weinstein: She says she didn't realize Weinstein had sexually harassed her until women started coming forward. “I was like, Oh my God, that means I was abused? I don’t think he’ll ever be able to repay what he’s done.”
On Ashley Benson: “We weren’t looking for it. It was really just very authentic and natural. She’s one of the people who helped me love myself when I needed it most.”
She says her favorite musician is Billie Eilish, and that her new show, the Amazon series Carnival Row (premiering August 30), is “the first [thing] I’ve done where I’m really full-blown acting.”
