It probably would have, but Spielberg was strongly campaigning against it because of his whole thing on ‘tv movies’ should not be eligible for Oscars

Im just pissed bc that money couldve gone to some shows they canceled and I am very bitter about it, even for the shows I dont want.

It never would have gone towards a tv show. Netflix is only interested in what’s exceptionally popular and TV wise they have too much content imo. That’s what causes things to get canceled as I see it.

It’s not about marketing. They are oversaturated as a platform. There are too many options.

But I thought Netflix didn’t give them the money, the picture was financed before Netflix got involved I thought? The production budget just ballooned due to the effects.

I don’t really know anything about the films actual production- all i know is that The Irishman has no impact on how and why Netflix funds their tv shows.
