Good idea to break it up into a few smaller posts! LJ is not the most technically advanced site on these here interwebs.

Going to see DCFC in a couple weeks... I've liked some of their newer stuff, but this song is very meh. But this just reminded me to look at the setlist they've been playing, and it's pretty great! (and ofc they close with Transatlanticism, I would not have it any other way).

I love the Like A Version (+ the BBC equivalent), you hear some great combos between the two of them. I don't know the original song, but he sounds nice on the cover.

Mac Demarco looks like such a douche.

oh, wow! i haven't seen death cab since they played siren. the stages were on the beach and they played "transatlanticism" just as the sun was setting. it was so magical and one of my favorite memories.
i'm surprised that their last few albums have been so decent, but i'm sure chris walla's departure is going to start negatively affecting their creative output soon.

i think i have more covers in my itunes than any other type of song and most of my favorite songs are covers--the sundays cover of the rolling stones' "wild horses", al green's cover of the beegees "how can you mend a broken heart?", fiona apple's cover of wing's "let me roll it", kenny lattimore's cover of jeff buckley's "everybody here wants you".

So excited for new Angel Olsen. Love the song, cant wait to hear the rest of the album in October.
