If it is such an important issue to him, he should have married someone who felt the same way. *shrug* I hope she never takes his name.

I'm never changing my name. Too much hassle for my lazy ass.

Right, he could have easily found someone who would have changed their name for him.

I have an advanced degree and several licenses on top of not believing in taking someone else's name because I spent a long ass time becoming me, I'm not ready to get rid of that now or ever.

I got married 3 months ago. I haven't changed my name officially and my husband is kind of butthurt about it. When we introduce ourselves to people I don't mind the Mr. & Mrs. (his name) and I changed my Facebook to hyphenate the two names but I dread trying to make it "official". I loathe paperwork and dammit, I'm old and have a loooong papertrail, lol.

Whenever my husband whines about my credit cards and driver's license not having "the right" name, I told him if it he thinks it's that easy, he can always change his to mine and we'd match. :) It's shutting him up for now.

My last name is rather stupid and when I was a kid I was sure I'd change it, but now that I'm nearing 40 I'm more than used to it. Plus my husband's last name isn't that great either so I don't think it's worth the hassle.

My husband came to the SS office with me so I could hyphenate. Guess what? If I have to be annoyed about this, so do you.

I actually did change my name, not for marriage but because I wanted to. Even if I were the type of person who was okay with taking their spouse's last name, the hassle I went through the first time would be enough to quash that.

I was going to change my name, but I married a Korean man so he doesn't care (they don't take last names in Korea.) So I never did, then I got all my degrees with this name and my name fits really well... and I'm too lazy. So I'm not going to change it lol. I don't mind ppl saying "Mr. and Mrs." whatever though, like my mom does.
