I'm glad she and others have said something. This bothered me a lot and really conveyed a limited and unfair idea of who he was. Plus it was bullshit lol no way would this character have beaten Bruce Lee in a fight.
Semi related, for people who have seen the movie ... [Spoiler (click to open)]This "movie buff" dudebro who is not at all familiar with the Tate murders is arguing with me about the ending and how it's "random" and I'm like...OK. He's like "Cliff should've met the other killers earlier in the movie" and I'm like that would've been so contrived and stupid and that scene wasn't for Tarantino fans, it was for true crime fans.
[Spoiler (click to open)] That’s confusing. So he’s saying that he wishes Cliff had picked up Susan or Patricia instead of the rando Manson girl? Or they should have been more prominent in the ranch scene?
idk I thought that it made sense that they either blended in with the crowd or weren’t there bc they were off with Charlie instead of staying at the ranch when he was gone
[Spoiler (click to open)]Yeah, he's saying Cliff should've had some contact with Susan and Patricia before the end scene and I'm like...no? The ranch was huge, he's not going to see everyone. Tex was enough. And Cliff was tripping balls. It's fine. I get why someone not familiar with the murders would feel that way but again, it wasn't for them, lol.
[Spoiler (click to open)] yeah it was enough to meet Tex and Squeaky at the ranch, and it was also enough to only see Charlie once in the entire film. the movie wasn’t specifically focused on the murders, it was focused more on hippies and youth culture at large and how that made the two washed up dudes feel old as fuck.
I mean everything but the last 30 minutes of the film take place months before the murders were to happen. Spending too much time on them would’ve been overkill imo, and with Tarantino the possibility of glamorizing Manson and his cult
Nobody laughed at Lee during my showing, i’d say the audience probably were more so on the side of “yeah brads gonna get his ass kicked” - the fact that people did when she saw it? UGHHHHH WHAT THE F PEOPLE. Quentin deserves whatever comes to him for this since he’s allegedly a fan too.
I got high and went to see this mess by myself and well... it could have been 2 hours shorter. The ending was pretty exciting / violent as one would expect in a QT movie, but everything leading up to it was awful.
Also, is Dakota Fanning the worst actress on the planet??
