So did the brother do it? Is that the consensus? If I have 3 hours to spare, which special on her murder is the most informative/least exploitative?

No the brother didn't do it lol. There's a couple old documentaries on youtube. The A&E one is good.

I think it was a stranger

Prob not honestly, ppl want to believe it was someone on the inside so bad but the crime scene was so screwed with that it could have been a stranger just as easily

rme. people don't think it was "someone on the inside" because they ~want to~, they believe it because that's where the evidence points.

this - i don't know the exact stat but its way more likely you're murdered by someone you know than someone you don't

Yeah I just can’t get my head around someone writing the incredibly long ransom note inside the home where the family were sleeping, surely if it had of been an intruder then they would have panicked and been out the door after killing her, not stopping to handwrite a note which would only leave evidence connecting them to the crime? Plus they had nothing to gain from writing a ransom note, the body was clearly in the house for the police to find, so what was even the point in leaving that note?

It’s always made more sense to me that the family wrote it after the fact to cover up something

didn't they also find a first draft of the note? I always felt like an actual ransom note writer would have most likely just scribbled out what was written if they wanted to start over, not take out a fresh sheet of paper.

The people who support the outsider theory think that the outsider came into the house while the family was out during the evening, wrote the note then and set up for the kidnapping, hid when they came home and then tried to take JonBenet once the family was asleep.

I don't think that makes sense because I would think if you were trying to kidnap someone for money, you'd bring a note with you rather than risk finding writing supplies somewhere in the house. Plus the fact that the ransom demand was for exactly the Dad's Christmas bonus and the writing looked like Patsy's all make me think the note was produced by the family.

Plus I believe they proved from her stomach contents that JonBenet was eating pineapple in the kitchen late that night, which also doesn’t really line up with a stranger luring her from her bed, if it really was a planned kidnapping for money then why take the risk of stopping to let her have a snack in the kitchen? Even the stopping to assault her in the basement seems unnecessarily risky, surely you would want to get her knocked out and away from the house as soon as humanly possible ( ... )

mte. the intruder theory makes no sense. I saw some special where they went over the main intruder theory in detail and it just sounded stupid. It's the most implausible of all of the theories imo.

Idk I don't WANT to believe it was her family member(s) because that'd be a horrifying fact; it's just that the evidence kind of leans towards the possibility of a family member killing her.

I think the last few interviews / docu shows pointed to yes. Him and it was about the pineapple.
