July 19, 2019 A big-screen biopic about Lou Pearlman, the boy band mogul turned Ponzi schemer, is on the way. It will be titled Transcon.
Pearlman was famous for starting and managing the Backstreet Boys, *NSYNC, LFO, O-Town, and others. He died in 2016 from a heart attack while serving a 25-year prison sentence.
The film will be based partly on a
2007 Vanity Fair article about Pearlman. Songwriters Desmond Child and Andreas Carlsson have signed on as producers. Carlsson helped write the Backstreet Boys’ “I Want it That Way” and *NSYNC’s “Bye Bye Bye."
The Boy Band Con, a documentary about Pearlman produced by *NSYNC member Lance Bass, premiered earlier this year.
Hope the casting for this will be better than that budget Lifetime Britney movie.
