I've never been to a con but I feel like SDCC would be one of those things that it would be worth making the effort to do once in your life. But then again I also get mad second hand embarrassment from over the top fans, and that seems to be a con staple?
I did SDCC once, in 2016, and that was enough for me. Maybe I'd do it again if there were enough things I wanted to check out, because overall it was really fun but it was just too busy, too hard to get into most of the panels I did want to see. Like I'm not about to start lining up at 5am for a 3pm panel or whatever. There's lots of smaller side events though that we did get to go to. The OTT fans were for sure out in full force, some of them were fun to watch, but def lots of embarassing ones too lol
