The panel on The Real (Adrienne Houghton, Loni Love, Jeannie Mai, and Tamera Mowry-Housley) discuss if bookworms are a dying breed. A recent study by San Diego State University says 1/3 of high school sophomores in the United States haven’t read a book (hard copy or digital) in the last year.

My boyfriend gave me money to get the new fancy ass kindle Oasis and I traded in my kindle to get 25% off + $50 off from the trade in, and it is KILLING ME not having a kindle to read. The new one doesn’t come out until next week. I’m a book hoarder, so it’s not like I don’t have a ton of print books to read, but I find it really difficult to hold a physical book these days.

I got so used to using a kindle that when I read a physical book and set it down for awhile I'm like, "opp gotta start reading again before the book... turns off?"

lol I use my ipad to read books mostly and when I dont know a word I just click on it and get it defined.
so once I was reading a real book and started tapping on the page trying to get a definition to pop up

in the same vein, I had to get OUT of the habit of pulling out my phone to google unknown words. One day I accidentally clicked on a word on my kindle and I was like, "oh! I forgot I could do that!!"
