Instagram is hiding likes and view count for public viewing

We want your friends to focus on the photos and videos you share, not how many likes they get. You can still see your own likes by tapping on the list of people who've liked it, but your friends will not be able to see how many likes your post has received.

I don't think so. Influencers can still leverage their metrics to get brand deals and free opportunities and the number of followers is still viewable.

they'll just lean on comments more and create more pods and mafias to get more of them.

Hopefully the influencers will die off, but I'm worried for all the legit small businesses I've found through Instagram.

No, because their follower count is obviously still visible.

It won't affect it one bit, as they'll still have access to their numbers to provide to sponsors and affiliates.
